My Commitment
I’m just gonna say it loud and clear, I’m not sure how long I’ll keep this blog. I don’t have any schedule or anything, this is mostly just for if I want to post something.
When I do post something, I’ll try to get it posted within a few days of me starting to write it. That being said, this could very well be my only post, which I’m hoping doesn’t happen.
A First Look Behind-The-Scenes
You might’ve seen the footer with credit to the theme I’m using, and yes, I’m using WordPress. There’s a lot of complicated things to consider when making a blog site—Search Engine Optimization (SEO), RSS feeds, accessibility, compliance to standards, and a lot more. Additionally, I wanted something that gave me a good dashboard so I wouldn’t have to manually update anything, it could just do it by itself.
I’m using the Shift theme, which although isn’t exactly what I wanted from a blog, is good enough and doesn’t look like a complete mess. I searched for a while trying to find a good theme, and this is the best one I found.
As per the actual hosting, I’m using a free hosting provider called x10hosting. I’ve used x10 in the past, and it’s one of the best free hosting providers I’ve found. If you just want to host an HTML page you made, or want to do something more complicated like a PHP app (such as this one), x10’s got you covered. (They also have a WordPress installer, which was super helpful because I didn’t have to download a single thing.)
Final Notes
Whether this is the only post on this site and it got abandoned quickly, or there’s been many posts and you’re looking back to see what the first post was, I want to say an official welcome and I hope my blog is easy to use.
For now, only time can tell.
